Chugging along
Spring term has begun and life is back to business as usual. I'm taking a pretty heavy course load this semester, and it's been hard to keep up. Since I'm a first-year student, I didn't have a top choice in selecting my classes, so I have all my classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and none on Tuesday or Thursday. I start at 8:00 a.m. on those days and don't finish until 4:00 p.m. It makes for a tiring day and definitely requires a nap right when classes are over.
One of the hardest classes I'm enrolled in is my Psychology 110 course. Science is definitely not my passion, so it's been my most challenging course by far. I'm more interested in subjects like religion, so I'm also taking an excellent "History of Christian Thought" class with Dr. Hall. This is easily my favorite course, simply because it involves the subject matter that I want to deal with in my career. It's a tough class, but I enjoy it. I'm in the standard humanities class that all first-year students take in their second semester, and I'm also taking a history course focusing on the United States after the Civil War. I'll probably minor in history, so this course is also one of those that I like.
Though my workload is growing and gets pretty tough at times, I do have Spring Break to look forward to. I'll be going to Amelia Island in Florida with one of my friends, his sister, his girlfriend, my girlfriend, and another friend, so we'll have a nice group of people together. We're renting a house close to the beach, so we'll get a chance to relax and unwind after midterms. One of my teachers is giving her midterm after Spring Break, though, so I might have to crack a book on the beach. I'm actually looking forward to it.
Basically, I'm just chugging along through the term. I don't have much free time now, but I do have good times ahead to be excited about.
