My break went by so fast

Returning to Centre after Spring Break was a double-edged sword. My vacation was one of the best I've ever had. I went to Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island in Florida with four other people: my girlfriend (Amanda), a friend from my hall, his girlfriend, and his sister. We spent a lot of time on the beach, and we had the chance to get some excellent seafood. Another fun activity was cooking for everyone; we made burgers and a special macaroni and cheese dish.

It was an excellent break from the stress that midterms brought, even though one of my teachers scheduled a midterm on the first day back from break, so I had to crack a book on the beach. It's already time to return to school, though, so my vacation has come to an end too soon. On the last day, I spent a great Easter at Amanda's house; her parents had me over for church and a delicious Easter brunch.

It'll be good to get back in the cycle of life at Centre and to discuss our breaks with my friends. Going back to the academic grindstone is unappealing, but it must be done. The classes I'm taking are extremely interesting, but the workload's incredibly difficult. I think I did well, though, on the midterm in my most difficult class, History of Christian Thought. If I keep up my progress, I should do pretty well this term.

I found out during the break that I was selected to be an RA (resident assistant) next year, so I'm already looking forward to that opportunity. It'll be great to share my knowledge from this first year with students entering Centre. Amanda was also selected, so we got to celebrate together.

In summary, I'm disappointed that my break went by so fast, but I'm looking forward to getting back into the routine of college life. My future at school is looking pretty good, so I'm excited to get there.
