Overwhelmed
Nervous
Possibly catching a cold?
Needing a break from studying
I'm about six weeks into school and when I thought I had things settled, midterms hit...HARD! I was in the library from 2:30 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. the day before two big midterms. Then, I studied for another hour and a half in my room. The next day I was worn out and after classes I slept for about five hours. I'm currently taking a break from studying for humanities to write/procrastinate. The only thing that will get me through this cram study session is an iced mocha and a blueberry muffin at the cafe (both delicious).
Centre, I feel, is full of ups and downs. Some weeks you have everything under control. The next week you have one paper, two tests and NO TIME! But do I regret coming to Centre? NO WAY! I love it way too much! There is never a dull moment, and sadly, never enough hours in the day. Also, I was surprised by how quickly one finds their niche.
Right now though, I'm missing home a lot! I'm ready to get away from the stress of Centre and get more than six hours of sleep per night. Fall Break is only a few days away and I can't wait to see friends from high school, my family, and my dog (who I have missed sooo much!)
I am sad to report, however, that I did not stay true to my promise of using the gym everyday. I have used it a total of...two times. I need more time in the day! But after midterms, I'll be going at it again getting in shape for the tennis season.
Lastly, all my professors are tons of fun! They keep things exciting so I won't drift to sleep in the morning. However, I had my first college scare. I woke up 45 minutes late for a history class with Dr. Wyatt. I literally woke from bed and ran across campus to make it half way through my class. I sat down in class and was totally out of breath and Dr. Wyatt says, "It happens! At least you still came!" I was prepared for the worst-case scenario but instead it wasn't a big deal. I could not believe it! I was in total shock but yet relieved! That's why I love college so much! All my teachers are so down-to-earth and laid-back.
Pretty much, I love Centre. There is so much to learn and do. There is honestly NEVER a dull day!
