Always something to do on campus

Highlights of My CENTRE Social Life
1. Midnight movies
2. Late night runs to Taco Bell and/or Arby's
3. Sorority "Meet and Greets"
4. Events at the College's Norton Center for the Arts
5. "The Hills" nights and movie nights
6. Dancing all night at the frat houses

To begin, midnight movies are amazing! ALL CENTRE STUDENTS GET IN FOR FREE! Plus they show the latest hits. For example, in the past couple of weeks they showed American Gangster (which I LOVED) and Beowulf. For us poor college kids, it's nice to get free things every now and then.

Now that I'm at college, I have food cravings at around midnight (since I'm still up doing homework) and for some reason a chicken quesadilla or curly fries sound AMAZING! I call a couple of friends and we all hop in the car to grab some food. It's a nice way to get reacquainted with friends and take a study break, since weekdays are usually hectic.

For sororities to get acquainted with students, they host gatherings on Wednesday's typically. Many sororities usually fix AMAZING snacks and everyone just chats. It's an easy way to familiarize yourself with the sororities and ask questions. All the girls are so sweet and up for any questions that one might have. It's also another nice way to get away from homework and concentrate on just meeting people. I've had so much fun at these gatherings just talking and eating. These gatherings happen a lot, so in case I missed one, I can catch another the next week or so.

The College's Norton Center for the Arts always has fun shows to see. I've literally seen every single one that has come. Soon, the Moscow Classical Ballet's The Nutcracker will be coming and I'm so excited! These events occur during the week at around 8:00 p.m. Many of my classes require that I go, but they are never boring! And next semester I'm even more excited because Yo-Yo Ma (an AMAZING cellist), The Producers, and Chicago are coming and I'll literally be first in line for those shows to make sure I get good seats. P.S. Most of these events at the Norton Center are FREE to Centre Students. It's pretty much amazing!

Many girls on my hall love TV shows like The Hills, just like me. So we get together on Mondays for half an hour (if we can spare that half an hour) to sit around and girl chat about anything. It's nice to relax, eat food, and chat. And for movie nights, some times college kids really need a break. Movie nights are great to chill and not think about school (which is actually really hard to do).

Lastly, dancing is one of my favorite things to do. So on the weekend, the frat houses open their doors to let everybody dance. The music is usually blasting and people are acting crazy and having so much fun!

There is always something to do on campus! Never can one be bored!
