As perplexed as I was The wind whistled through the white sycamores as we journeyed behind our fearless leader Professor Keffer; leading the way through the rolling, walnut-covered land on the way to the vast expanse of concrete paths known as Millennium Park. Discussing Immanuel Kant's, Critique of Judgment, I glanced around at other members of the class to make sure they were looking as perplexed as I was.
On returning back to Centre's campus and being dismissed from class, I found that my hands were so cold and numb, that they hadn't realized that my key had fallen out of my pocket on the walk. Even though I searched and searched it was nowhere to be found. The next day, still contemplating the ideas of Kant, and the location of my lost key, and again following Dr. Keffer, we walked the steep winding paths of Raven Run enjoying the sunny and warmish weather.
CentreTerm has so far been an adventure. The class I'm taking, "The Art of Walking," is led by Ken Keffer, a most enjoyable and interesting teacher who guides us on daily walks to various places, and leads our journey through Kant's Critique of Judgment which deals with the analyses of the beautiful and the sublime. Even though most of my day consists of class, it's not as hectic as I thought it would be. Class is very relaxed, and I find the walks we take very calming. The atmosphere seems lighter than it did during fall term, which I'm very thankful for.
Track, however, is not more relaxed than cross country, which is something new for me. Having never run track before, I was overwhelmed with the size of the team; but like cross country, going to track everyday seems to provide structure in my life. I hadn't realized how much I'd missed going to practice, and even running every day. It's great to be back. Back to running, back to Centre, back to hanging out with everyone...and even...can I say it...back to going to class.
