.) Hometown: I live in the amazing city of Sao Paulo, Brazil. In my opinion, it's the greatest city in the world; but of course, I haven’t lived in every city so my theory isn’t well founded. In Sao Paulo there’s always something to do and someone to meet. Unfortunately, Sao Paulo does have a “bad side” to it, but which city doesn’t?

.) Family/Pets: My father, Brad, born and raised in Kentucky, fell in love with a beautiful small town girl from Brazil, Regina. Their very happy marriage raised two very happy girls: my older sister, Tilli (born in Argentina) and myself (born in Mexico). We have two Irish setters: João Bebé (Baby John) and Foxy Lady and a ferret called Missy. We also recently adopted a dog from our farm, that we call Sammy. Our farm is the home to many other dogs, parrots, chickens, horses and a cow. It's my “heaven on earth” where our big family (I have 19 cousins) spends summers and winters just enjoying each other's company.

.) High School: I went to an American school in Sao Paulo called "Graded," which goes to show how academic it was. I graduated with a Brazilian, American, and a bilingual diploma from the International Baccalaureate Organization. Though it was a lot of hard work, I made friends from around the world and was always in contact with different cultures.

.) Extracurricular activities: I'd say that the thing I do most outside of school is yoga. It’s my exercise and my form of relaxation. At school I absolutely adore being part of the theatre. Not only do I enjoy acting, I enjoy the company of all the people I meet during rehearsals. I'm also involved with the Habitat for Humanity program, which makes a yearly trip to the North and works on a construction site. Oh yes, and I love to dance!

.) High school career highlight: My high school career highlight would probably be when I was accepted into PGC (Peer Group Connection). This is basically a group of seniors who are selected to run group activities and trips with the freshman class. It was something that I truly wanted for myself because it was something that wasn’t about academics. It was about learning to work in a group and about the true meaning of leadership. It was my favorite part of high school and it’s something I'll remember forever.

.) Favorite past "My CENTRE Lifer": Rachel (07-08), she just seemed to have a great balanced life that she enjoyed.

.) The thing you are most looking forward to about Centre: The thing I'm most looking forward to at Centre is meeting new people and living somewhere new after 12 years in the same city. I'm ready for a change of scenery!

.) Your greatest apprehension about college: Just as moving somewhere new is what I'm most looking forward to, it’s also what I’m most nervous about. It'll be hard to be away from my parents and cousins, who are like my best friends. And I dislike pointing out the obvious but the United States is extremely different from Brazil. I'm sure I’ll grow to love it just as much, but home will be greatly missed.

.) The way your parents feel about you moving out: My mom is practically tying me to a chair! But I'm sure she’ll get used to it, as will I. My dad is just acknowledging the fact that the phone bill is going to be huge and there’s going to be no one in the house to distract him from work.

.) Intended major(s) and minor(s): Well, I intend to study something along the lines of communications but I know that international studies will be either a minor or a major.

.) If you could bring one performer/group to the College's Norton Center for the Arts, it would be: This is a hard one! It'd probably be between The Beatles and Collective Soul, but I really don’t have a favorite performer or group.

.) Worst movie ever: I take it back, this one is harder! I love movies! I've watched countless good ones and bad ones. To list them would take an eternity and to remember them would take a genius!

.) If given a million dollars to donate to an organization of your choosing, to what organization (for profit or not-for-profit) would you donate it: If I could I'd probably want to divide it up between many organizations. But if I needed to choose I'd probably donate it to Habitat for Humanity in Brazil. I know, through experience, that it accomplishes its goals by working hand in hand with the community.

.) Favorite smell: the smell of cut grass...it reminds me of my childhood!

.) If you could have any one question answered before you die, it would be: I would ask, “What question should I be asking?” Even though I would be getting a question and not an answer, I’d have somewhere to start in my next life, that is if I have a next life.

.) Person (living or dead) with whom you'd most like to have dinner. In addition, where would you go to eat or what would you cook for them? I'd most definitely have dinner with Vincent Van Gogh just because he's my favorite artist ever! But I’m not a good cook; I can only make salads, cookies, and sandwiches. So, I think I'd make him my favorite salad ever, which I very creatively call: Chel Salad. Its ingredients are tomato, mozzarella buffalo cheese (I’m translating so I hope I’m not saying anything weird), palm heart, pesto, olive oil, and salt. It’s really good, trust me! I think he’d like it...I hope!

.) If stranded on a deserted island, what would be the one non-survival item you'd want with you? Sunscreen! Wait, does that classify as a non-survival item? If it doesn’t, I’d take the Lord of the Ring books just because they're so long and I haven’t read them yet. Being stranded would present me with the time to read them and hopefully enjoy them!

.) If you had thought of it first, with what invention do you wish you could have been credited? Record players! Like, how does that work? There’s a needle and a record and it produces music! It’s crazy!

.) Describe yourself in a haiku (5-7-5) or other poetic form:
Smiling all the time
Extremely energetic
Prepared to work hard.

.) Why did you choose Centre?
Because Centre fits! It was one of the few colleges that I enjoyed visiting. I’m used to a small high school that’s very individual and I wanted that. It just seemed like the place for me! I can’t wait!
