Deadline approaching for Study Abroad Photo Contest submissions

April 21, 2011 By Leigh Cocanougher
india The Center for Global Citizenship and Communications Office
recently announced a new study abroad photo contest, in which
$250 will be awarded for first place, $150 for second place and
$100 for third place. Photos from every study abroad trip held
during the 2010-2011 school year (including a recent trip to
India, where the photo above was taken) are eligible.

contest The more dynamic and original the shot, the better. Photos need
not capture Centre students but can simply illustrate foreign life,
like this shot, taken by a Centre student in New Zealand.

As they do every year, Centre College students have spent much time abroad, and the Center for Global Citizenship and Communications Office want to see the photos! In a joint effort, the two offices are holding a study abroad photo contest, and every student who has participated in a foreign study experience during the 2010-2011 school year is invited to participate.

While all photos from study abroad trips are interesting, for this contest, students should keep in mind that the more dynamic and original the shot, the better. Each student may submit up to 10 photos; the deadline for submissions is April 30.

A prize of $250 will be awarded for first place, $150 for second place and $100 for third place.

To submit a photo for consideration, e-mail the photo to Chris Floyd at chris.floyd@centre.edu with “Study Abroad Photo Contest” as the subject. The picture should be sent as a .jpg file at the highest resolution possible.

Each picture should include a description of the photo, including any people and the location.

The winners will be chosen at the end of this school year, and any photo submitted may be used elsewhere on the College’s website, in publications or in other Centre communications.
