Reasons Centre is a national leader in value

January 20, 2011
Centre A Centre education is widely recognized as a wise investment.

Centre At Centre, students receive “personal education” from some of the
nation’s top faculty. In 2011, Centre professors were ranked No. 9
(in three-way tie) on the “Strong Commitment to Teaching” list.

A college degree at a leading national institution does not often come cheap, but with a promise of providing personal education leading to extraordinary success, Centre is an investment in the future that will pay dividends for the rest of each student’s life.

Centre’s programs of need-based financial aid and merit scholarships are among the most generous of any top U.S. college. Each year, the College commits more than $12 million to financial assistance. Eighty-five percent of this year’s freshman class is receiving some form of financial assistance.

Centre is both a great value and unusually affordable. In the 2011 rankings, U.S. News & World Report ranks Centre 26th on “Great Colleges, Great Prices” list. The Princeton Review not only featured Centre as one of its “best colleges” in the nation for 2011 but also named it a “best value” private college. In 2010, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance listed Centre No. 31 among all U.S. private liberal arts Colleges on its “Best Value Colleges” list. And Consumers Digest ranks Centre the No. 1 value among private liberal arts colleges.

A Centre degree is worth more. Exceptional students, outstanding professors, superior facilities and individualized attention result in a better education. In addition, Centre’s national reputation provides real advantages in gaining entrance to graduate and professional schools and in the job market. In fact, within 10 months of graduation, 98 percent of Centre students reporting (on average) are employed or engaged in advanced study. About 40 percent earn advanced degrees within 10 years.

At Centre, students graduate on time. Ninety-seven percent of Centre graduates complete their degree in four years. Graduation in four years is one of the three components of the Centre Commitment, which also guarantees each student an internship and study abroad experience.
