Centre College students honored at annual Showcase

Centre’s annual Showcase of student academic achievement took place on Tuesday, May 1, and students were honored for their hard work and dedication to the College.

Members of the Class of 2012 chose Anne Evans ’12 and Jeff Kaplan ’12 to speak at the convocation, and each representative delivered an address reminding his or her peers to embrace the memories made over the past four years at Centre. The College presented awards in a wide array of areas to selected students from all four class years, from recognition for highest grade point average and best paper in a certain subject to outstanding commitment to the community and exhibition of leadership qualities. Many awards are endowed by faculty, alumni and friends of the College.

The Showcase also included announcements for new members various honor societies, including Phi Beta Kappa, a national honor society that celebrates excellence in the liberal arts and sciences and awards students at America’s leading colleges and universities for outstanding academic performance.
