[VIDEO] President John A. Roush interviewed on C-SPAN for the Vice Presidential Debate

October 18, 2012 By Elizabeth Trollinger

Centre College President John A. Roush was interviewed on C-SPAN in the hours before the Vice Presidential Debate on Oct. 11. Roush spoke about how the debate Centre hosted in 2000 made an indelible impact on the College—and how he anticipated this debate to do the same.

“It’s a powerfully good thing for our students and for our entire town, and really for the trajectory of the College,” says Roush in the interview. “Centre College is a remarkable place for young people. When you have an event like this, it tends to mark the institution from that point forward as a place of high achievement. ... Centre College has been able to double down on the success of that first debate, and simply knew we wanted to do it again.”
