Sundays. Get Centred is a contemplative Christian worship service held on Sunday nights at 10 p.m. in the candlelit sanctuary of the Presbyterian Church. This half-hour service of music, prayer, scripture readings, and silence is a great way to start the week.—Jeff Jones

Check out Baldridge Reading and Study Skills program. You will learn many life-long skills that can be applied in every situation, such as faster reading with improved comprehension, increased concentration, and better note-taking skills. New Discoveries in Biblical Archaeology
Thursday, February 10, 6:30 pm, Vahlkamp Theatre
Rabbi Joe Rapport of Louisville and Professor Tom McCollough will discuss new discoveries and how they relate to Judaism. They will also answer student questions about the talk and about Judaism in general.

The United Nations recently named Merida, Mexico, one of 100“cities of peace” worldwide. The city is the home of the Centre-in-
the-Yucatan study abroad program, one of three full-term,
residental programs offered at Centre.
Study Abroad Next Year: Students applying for one of Centre’s semester programs abroad next year should give out their faculty recommendations as soon as possible. Applications and faculty recommendations are available at the Center for Global Citizenship in Carnegie. Students may apply to more than one program.

Samuel Robinson Award. The Financial Aid for Studies Office of the Presbyterian Church, USA, offers $2,000 to $5,000 to juniors and seniors who attend a Presbyterian-related college and do not currently receive a grant or scholarship from the PCUSA. Recipients of the Samuel Robinson Award are required to recite from memory the answers to the Westminster Shorter Catechism and to write a 2,000-word essay on an assigned topic.
