Meetings/Gatherings
Sundays. Get Centred is a contemplative Christian worship service held on Sunday nights at 10 p.m. in the candlelit sanctuary of the Presbyterian Church. This half-hour service of music, prayer, scripture readings, and silence is a great way to start the week.

Breakfast before finals! The Centre Parents Association will be serving breakfast every morning of finals at 7:45 a.m. in Olin and Young Halls. Good luck on your finals and have a great summer! Seniors, please remind your parents to make reservations for all the Commencement weekend activities if they have not already done so. Your parents received a meal reservation form in their Commencement packets. Just ask them to fill it out and mail it to Amy Wilson, or they may make reservations over the phone by calling Amy at 859-238-5208.

Wednesday, May 4. DHS student presentation. I would like to invite Centre faculty to my second presentation of Learning for United States History. Students will have projects on display in the Media Center depicting "A Hero in my Eyes" character sketches and "If I walked a mile in your shoes..." This project will incorporate writing as well as art, with a focus on the Civil Rights Movement and Vietnam. Time/Place: 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., at Danville High School. Also, my economics class will be presenting that day from 2:45 to 3:30 p.m. Their presentations focus on environmental economics. If possible, please RSVP to laura.mason@danville.kyschools.us so I will know approximate times for visitors.

Alpha Delta Pi is sponsoring a philanthropy event entitled "Lion's Share Challenge: Our Mother and Theirs", a silent auction to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House. Come to the auction and bid on items such as a Keeneland Box, creative picture frames, gift cards from local restaurants, and an assortment of beautiful baskets, baked goods, and decorative items that your mother will love! ALL proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House. Time/Place: The auction will be held this Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Campus Center Room 202, and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Friday in the Nichol's Dining Room.

Friday, May 13. Spaghetti dinner and Dracula.The dinner includes spaghetti, salad, breadsticks, drinks, and dessert for only $6 or 2 dinners for $10 (children under 5 eat free with a paying adult). At 7:30 p.m. (after the dinner), Danville High School (DHS) will present Dracula in Gravely Hall. Tickets are available now in the DHS office or at the door the night of the event. The spaghetti dinner is a fundraiser to send forensics team national qualifiers to speech and debate competition. Time/Place: 5:30-7:30 p.m., Danville High School cafeteria.

Looking for a quiet place to study during finals? Trinity Episcopal Church, the church with the red doors, (located across the street from the courthouse on West Main Street), will be open as a place for Centre students to study from 3 until 11 p.m., Wednesday, May 11 through Tuesday, May 17. There are multiple study areas, all with Wi-Fi access. Entry will be through the left side door marked CENTRE at the rear of the church.
