Marching On

Theatre Director Tony Haigh, right, and Humana Visiting Scholar Herman Farrell III visited the nation’s capitol recently to take part in the 40th anniversary celebrations of the 1963 Civil Rights March on Washington. They heard Coretta King and Martin Luther King III speak, and spent some time in the company of the Rev. Jesse Jackson. Farrell is writing a play for Centre College that explores the legacy of the Civil Rights movement. The Beloved Community will premiere at Centre College in November and will be directed by Haigh.
