A once-in-a-120-year shot

These are photos from earlier this week of the planet Venus making a rare journey across the face of the sun. Transits of Venus occur twice—eight years apart—about every 120 years. The photos were taken using a state-of-the-art telescope purchased last fall by Centre. Centre also purchased a new camera and Webcam to take astronomy pictures and movies. The telescope is used for Centre’s physics courses.
