Close Encounter

Biology major, Megan Gatewood '10, showcases a specimen she retrieved from the ocean barehanded while on vacation during winter break. Gatewood says, "As an aspiring scientist it was a nice surprise to be up close and personal with this mini-beast of the ocean." The shark was later returned safely to its natural habitat.
