Spending CentreTerm in the Sky

While studying volcanoes in New Zealand for CentreTerm, Sarah Humphries '11 took part in a skydiving adventure. The CentreTerm course in New Zealand, led by chemistry professors Dr. Conrad Shiba and Dr. Joe Workman, focused on the physical science of volcanoes. While abroad, students studied different types of volcanoes and eruptions, volcanic hazards and benefits, environmental effects of volcanoes and historically significant eruptions. The class also discussed and visited hot springs and geysers.
