Photo of the Week
Above the “Sea of Sand”
Centre College alumna Polly Furth ’10, who last year received a Fulbright grant to teach English in Indonesia, recently visited the “Sea of Sand” in East Java. There, she witnessed brownish gray ash pouring from Mount Bromo, a volcano that has been erupting intermittently since November. Furth says that Centre professor Conrad Shiba first piqued her interest in volcanoes when discussing them in his geology course.Photo submitted by Polly Furth ’10
