Photo of the Week
Above the “Sea of Sand”
Centre College alumna Polly Furth ’10, who last year received a Fulbright grant to teach English in Indonesia, recently visited the “Sea of Sand” in East Java. There, she witnessed brownish gray ash pouring from Mount Bromo, a volcano that has been erupting intermittently since November. Furth says that Centre professor Conrad Shiba first piqued her interest in volcanoes when discussing them in his geology course.
