Centre was also mentioned on the list of great schools for history majors, among the company of institutions like Brown, Columbia and Harvard universities.
The Princeton Review also gave the college a quality of life rating of 85, calling campus life “active,” and touting “the small picturesque town of Danville” as “very much a college town.” Students said that although Danville is growing, with new restaurants and more activity downtown, “there is so much going on at campus that students don’t ever want to leave.”
According to the guidebook, Centre offers “a genuine, personal, practical education in all areas of life.” The book’s survey of alumni and current students indicates that students maintain high ethical standards in the classroom and socially, athletic facilities are top-notch, the school is well-run and the campus feels safe. One current student stated that Centre “looks toward the future … of our world and the need for students to be prepared for it … Centre has and will continue to prepare me for what comes next in my journey.”
