Campus Construction Update
The A. Eugene Brockman Residential Commons is complete and all 124 of its new student residents have moved in for the beginning of the 2012-13 academic year. Given Centre’s commitment to sustainable building practices, every effort was made to meet LEED qualification. Centre is the only college in Kentucky to have three LEED-certified buildings (Pearl, Campus Center, and Young addition), including two at the Gold level.
Construction of the new Centre South Fields is complete. The multipurpose turf field and the softball field are also complete.
Centre College remains grateful to the A. Eugene Brockman Charitable Trust for its generous funding of these projects.
A new color campus map identifies all these new projects, as well as the campus as a whole. The map can also be accessed on smartphones on the new Centre College mobile website, available at: m.centre.edu.
Founded in 1819, Centre College is ranked among the U.S. News top 50 national liberal arts colleges. Forbes magazine ranks Centre 24th among all the nation's colleges and universities and has named Centre No. 1 among all institutions of higher education in the South for two years in a row. Centre alumni, known for their nation-leading loyalty in annual financial support, include two U.S. vice presidents and two Supreme Court justices. For more, click here.
