Gary BuggDirector of Public Safety
Gary began working for the Department of Public Safety as a Public Safety Officer in 1987. In 1993, Gary became the Assistant to the Director and in 1996, he was promoted to Associate Director. In 2005 he was promoted to Director of Public Safety, a position he currently shares with Kevin Milby. Gary holds a B.S. in psychology from Centre College.
Kevin MilbyDirector of Public Safety
Kevin joined the Centre community in 1996 as Associate Director of Public Safety. In 2005 he was promoted to Director of Public Safety. He came to Centre from Berea College where he worked in the Public Safety Department for seven years. Kevin holds a B.A. in history from Berea, as well as a M.S. in criminal justice from Eastern Kentucky University.
Kenny PeavlerSenior DPS Officer
A Danville High School graduate, Kenny joined Centre College in 1988. Prior to working at Centre, Kenny worked for Burke's Bakery for 14 years. He is a trained Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and has received training from the Public Safety Academy.
Rubin MosleyDPS Officer
Rubin is a graduate of Bryan Station High School in Lexington, Kentucky. He attended Eastern Kentucky University and studied criminal justice. Prior to joining Centre College in 1997, Rubin worked in retail for 26 years and was in management at WalMart.
Charlotte McConahaDPS Officer
Charlotte, a Boyle County native, joined the Department of Public Safety staff in 2000. Prior to coming to Centre, Charlotte ran her own business, Charlotte's Errand Service for 5 years, worked in the security field for a local factory, managed the Danville Thrift Store, and spent 21 years with a local factory as a supervisor.
Randy BoydDPS Officer
Randy is a graduate of Lincoln County High School and joined the Centre College Department of Public Safety as an office in 2001. Prior to working at Centre, Randy was a floor sub-contractor for 19 years.
Troy DavidsonDPS Officer
Troy joined the Department of Public Safety in 2011. He is a graduate of Danville High School and served in the United States Navy. Troy has many years of experience in law enforcement, having recently retired at the rank of Captain with the Danville Police Department.
Bruce SmithDPS Officer
Bruce joined Center in 2012. Born and raised in Liberty, Kentucky, Bruce graduated from Casey County High School and received a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Nicholls State University (Thibodaux, LA). In the summer of 1980, he attended Aviation Officer’s Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida and was designated a Naval Aviator in May 1982. Bruce served for 10 years in the United States Navy flying both carrier and land based aircraft. In 1992, Bruce left military service and joined the Seattle Police Department where he worked for 18 years as an officer/detective.
Rick JohnsonDPS Officer
Rick joined Centre in 2012. Born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, Rick is a graduate of Lafayette High School in Lexington and attended college at the University of Kentucky. Prior to coming to Centre, Rick retired after 25 years with the Division of Fire & EMS in Lexington as a Fire Captain/Paramedic. He also served as a Level One State of Kentucky Fire Instructor in the fields of EMS/Paramedic, Haz Mat Awareness, Aircraft Rescue-Firefighting, and Residential/Commerical Fire Inspections. Rick also owned a personal "Home Improvement" Business for 34 years.
