Parsons Student Health Ctr | Available Services & Fees
Parsons Student Health functions as a walk-in clinic for medical issues ranging from minor to chronic illnesses. No appointments are needed and evaluations and treatment by the staff is free of charge. In-clinic lab tests and medications made available through Parsons Student Health can be paid for at the time of service or can be billed to your student account. If labs or diagnostic imagining at the local hospital is needed, those charges will be billed to the provided insurance or a statement will be mailed to your home address.
Allergy Shots
You must wait 20 minutes after the injection.
Employee Health
The following services are available to employees of Centre College: flu vaccines, allergy shot administration, blood pressure checks, TB skin test, tetanus shots and Hepatitis A and B shots (at cost).
Immunizations
Flu, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A, Meningitis, TD and Tdap (Tetanus-Diphtheria) vaccines. TB Skin testing is offered for a fee. To request records of your imminuzations email marsha.edelen@centre.edu with your name, date of birth, graduation year, and an email address to send the requested records. Student records are maintained in Parsons for 10 years after graduation.
Laboratory and X-rays
Are available at the local hospital, Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Charges will be billed to your insurance company or your home address.
Mental Health Issues
The office of Centre's Counseling Services is located in the same building as Parsons. Kathy Miles, Director of Counseling, can be reached at 859-238-5740.
Referral Service
Names and phone numbers of local physicians and specialists are available upon request. If you need to be seen by a specialist, Parsons staff can make this referral however some insurance companies require referrals from a primary care provider.
Self-Help Center
Over-the-counter cold, pain, allergy, cramp, and indigestion medications are available without having to see the nurse.
Travel Clinic
When you are planning to study abroad, the Parsons staff works with Kentucky Travel Medicine and the Study Abroad office to make sure you get the correct education, vaccinations, and medications needed to stay well while studying abroad.
Women's Health Clinic
Offered two days per month, the Boyle County Health Department, will be in Parsons to perform various services. Pap smears, STD testing, and birth control services are also available. There is no charge for this clinic. Call 859-238-5530 for an appointment.
