Centre College is committed to sustainability, environmentally friendly practices, and energy conservation. For the past four decades and beyond, the Centre community has taken its environmental role seriously, believing we have a mission to educate and set examples in the local community, within the state, and on a broader national scale.
Says Centre President John A. Roush: “This is one of the single-most important things we do: showing students what it is to live responsible lives as it relates to the environment.”
The College’s current and future efforts are rooted in its participation in the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment (ACUPCC). Centre has publicly committed to a plan of action that will achieve climate neutrality on campus by the year 2040.
