While travelling, there are two types of things that can touch your life forever—scenery and people. Sitting on top of the Monte Alban ruin, looking down over the mountains of San Cristobal de las Casas with your new best friends and travel partners is nothing short of amazing. Sharing a meal with women whose saving grace is a round corn tortilla—the production of which helps them provide an income to provide for their families. I don’t think I will ever forget the taste of the cactus quesadillas they shared with us. And the hospitality and comfort of our new families in Mérida will always give us another place to call home.

Because of these experiences, I'm able to shatter all the stereotypes I was faced with before I visited the country. The culture and people of México are nothing short of wonderful, and I hope to share my experiences with everyone who is interested. They say travelling has the potential to change lives; and after this experience, my life has forever changed for the better.

Hasta pronto, México. Te extrañaré.
