Life here is flying by! Each week new experiences bring new people, sights, smells, sounds and some challenges. I've done much since my return from Beijing when I wrote my first journal entry. Understandably, it's been an entire month! It's been exciting to experience daily life for a good solid month. Nothing makes reality sink in like settling into a routine. What's amazing, though, is that the routine is just as fun! Things that are usually completely uninteresting and normal become cool.

For instance, your weekly grocery run becomes exponentially neater when you stop and think that you're making it in Shanghai, asking questions in Chinese and for the life of you trying to figure out what they said back. Even going to class is cool because it's in China. I've loved settling into life here the past month. |
