Carmen Arranz joined Centre's faculty in 2009 as visiting instructor of Spanish.
Her doctoral dissertation, "Women Writing Towards Modernity: Spain, 1900-1914," focuses on Spanish women writers addressing conflicting perspectives between tradition and modernity in the early twentieth century.
Arranz attended the Instituto Politecnico de Leiria in Portugal, received a B.A. in translation and interpretation from Universidad de Valladolid in Spain, and a M.A. in Hispanic studies from the University of Kentucky.
