Markus Hardtmann joined Centre's faculty in 2008 as visiting instructor of German.
Before coming to Centre, Hardtmann was a pre-doctoral teaching fellow at the University of Notre Dame, and taught German at Northwestern University. He speaks German, French, and English fluently, and has reading knowledge of Latin and Ancient Greek.
He earned his M.A. in Geman literature, philosophy, and psychology at Albert-Ludwigs-Universitat in Freiburg, Germany, and he is currently completing his Ph.D. in German literature and critical thought from Northwestern University.
