Brianna Leavitt-Alcantara joined Centre's faculty in 2009 as assistant professor of history.
Her research interests include how lay religious practice shaped local religion in urban and rural contexts from the colonial period through the nineteenth century in Central America and Mexico.
Leavitt-Alcantara received a B.A. in history from the University of San Francisco, and a Ph.D. in history from the University of California, Berkeley.
