Jennifer McMahon is associate professor of philosophy at Centre College, where she has taught since 1997.

McMahon has expertise in existentialism, 19th and 20th century continental philosophy, philosophy and literature, Asian philosophy, aesthetics, and biomedical ethics. She has presented papers on a diverse range of topics at both national and international conferences. She has published articles in journals including Asian Philosophy and The Journal of the Association for Interdisciplinary Study of the Arts. She has also published essays on philosophy and popular culture in Seinfeld and Philosophy, The Matrix and Philosophy, The Simpsons and Philosophy, and The Lord of the Rings and Philosophy, four recent releases from Open Court Press. She's also given conference presentations and published journal articles on existentialism and aesthetics.

McMahon earned a B.A. in philosophy from Skidmore College. She holds M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in philosophy from the State University of New York at Buffalo. During her tenure at SUNY-Buffalo, McMahon was honored with a teaching excellence award.
