| H. Edward Montgomery, Jr., joined the Centre faculty in 2000 as a visiting professor of chemistry and physics. A retired U.S. Navy captain who worked with nuclear-powered submarines, he has taught at the Naval Academy and most recently was chief of staff of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center. He is a graduate of Berea College and has a Ph.D. in chemical physics from the University of Kentucky.
