André Wehner joined the faculty at Centre College in 2001 as assistant professor of mathematics and physics. He holds a B.S. from Humboldt University (Berlin, Germany), an M.S. from Idaho State University (Pocatello, Idaho), and a Ph.D. from Utah State University (Logan, Utah).
Dr. Wehners expertise lies in the geometrical study of theoretical physics with special emphasis on general relativity and alternative theories of gravitation, as well as differential topology. His research interests center around conformal gauge theories, the Cartan formalism, the theory of transformation groups, symmetry methods for differential equations, and the inverse problem of variational calculus.
