Our brush with Mr. Springer is only one of many memorable moments that we’ll all take from our time in London.  We’ve been so fortunate to live in such a culturally vibrant and politically charged city during a period of rapid change in Europe and the wider world.  We’ve seen and done a lot – from weekly encounters with some of the world’s greatest museums to a wonderful visit to Paris, with so much in between.  There’s no telling how many stories my friends and I here could tell of these experiences, and I’m sorry that I can’t even begin to share each one of them.

And then there have been the little things that help to put a human face on the otherwise daunting images one associates with London.  Perhaps my favorite among these has been the series of group meals at some of London’s most interesting restaurants  – after all, everyone’s friendly when delicious food is free!  Kidding aside, it was during these meals when I really sensed what good people we had in our group, and how fondly we’ll look back on our days together on this side of the Atlantic. We’re all so grateful for this opportunity.

And there is good reason, apart from the fact that seeing what this earth has to offer is fulfilling in itself: I really can’t imagine a more important service that a college could provide its students in this day when the world keeps getting smaller, and we all keep getting closer to one another.

If all’s gone well, then, I’ve been able to give you some small impression of the lasting value that this trip has held for each of us.  Here’s hoping that you’ll find the same good fortune soon.
