rollerblading down the mountain, while others
were zooming down in the luge. Of course, when I tried the luge,
I managed to flip right over and suffered some scrapes and bruises!
Let's just say I've not quite yet conquered the luge.
Yesterday, we went back in time to the days
during World War II. We visited Struthof, the only concentration
camp in France that was occupied by the Nazis. From there, we took
another bus and saw the Maginot Line. Incredible! It is one of those
things where learning about these sites in a textbook cannot possibly
give justice to what you see when you are actually standing there.
I was taken back and completely at
awe. I cannot fathom what the people of the French resistance experienced
at Struthof or how the French military lived in the Maginot Line.
