the final leg of my journey to my host family’s home. My host family consists of a mother, father and a daughter. I was informed by my advisor that only the daughter speaks English, and the mother and father know little to none. Gulp. This was definitely going to test my Japanese skills, and my Japanese was rusty at that. I had not had Japanese since my freshman year at Centre, which was nearly a year ago. My next task was to unpack and get settled into my own room. I was exhausted by the time I finished this feat, and the fact that Japan is 13 hours ahead of Danville, and that I had been awake for what seemed like eons was not helping.
