headache, and my I felt pain when walking. I was reduced to limping, and I began to worry about my condition. I again traveled to the nurse. She took one look at my huge foot and said, “Go to hospital!” Her immediate diagnosis didn’t really comfort me but I decided I should do as she said.

I hobbled up the stairs to meet my advisor and to explain my situation. We then traveled to a nearby doctor’s office. After waiting for a few minutes I went in to see the doctor. From what I was told, I had had an allergic reaction to the toxins that Mr. Bee had so kindly injected into my body. The doctor put a clean bandage on my toe and gave me a shot. He also prescribed me medication that would speed up my recovery process. He told me that the swelling should go down in about 3 or 4 days.

This was the first time I had ever been stung by a bee, so I was unsure as to what I should expect other than pain and maybe a little redness, certainly not what happened. I’m feeling much better now, and there’s only a slight amount of pain when I walk. The swelling hasn’t yet gone down but hopefully it will soon. I guess all is not lost; this event without a doubt is one that I will always remember. It also provided me with “journal material” in what had previously looked to be a regular week! Here’s today’s lesson; it’s fitting.
