Upon returning I discovered that I was locked out of the building. Insert expletive. I assumed that during my brief journey that the security guard had locked the building. I had a huge paper due the next day that was still unfinished, so it was a necessity that I get back inside.

Operation: Infiltrate C Building commenced at once. Plan A was to seek out the culprit who had locked the building.
I combed the scene and surrounding area for suspects,

but came up empty handed. Plan B was to gain entry into C Building by any means necessary. “Desperate times call fordesperate measures,” I told myself. Phase 1 – Enter through a first floor window. I figured that at least one of the first story windows would be unlocked, but much to my dismay they were all locked. Phase 2 – Enter through a door. I tried using a credit card and several keys but the doors would not budge. Phase 3 – Enter through the fire escape. With snack in hand I climbed up the tiny fire escape ladder to the fourth story. Once there I gave the large sliding glass door a nudge. Score!

Mission Complete. I reached central command, a.k.a. my office, at approximately 11:50 PM. I took a few minutes to relax and enjoy my snack and then it was back to work on my 15-page paper. I finally finished the paper around 3:30 AM and after packing up I departed for home. While I was extremely tired, there was something exhilarating about sneaking into school. I don’t plan on doing this again, unless necessary, but it will definitely be a great story for the grandkids.

Anyway, I need to get back to work on my paper. Here’s this week’s phrase, it’s fitting for me right now.
