We’ve started working at our non-governmental organzation (agencies) (NGO) this week. The NGOs range from working with blind children, to helping the elderly exercise, to teaching English at public schools, to helping women provide a living for themselves.

Jackie Walisa and Lindsey Luttrell, on their first visit to the school where they will be teaching elementary-aged children English, were tossed in a classroom full of rowdy second graders to teach them English for three hours. As Jackie put it, “ It was really sad. These 7 year old kids knew more English than I know Spanish!” However, after three hours of trying to figure out how to keep the children quiet enough to teach them anything, Jackie and Lindsey said that everyone was sad the class was over that they were leaving and wanted to know when they would be returning.
