We got to Fez fairly late, had dinner, then went to a Sufi drumming
ceremony. It was crazy! It started in the winding streets of the
medina (the old city) and moved into a beautiful home/restaurant.
Three men led the procession with flags, followed by eight drummers
with their drums balanced on their shoulders, then five of the loudest
reed instruments I’ve ever heard. Several people went into
trances during the session. We danced, clapped, and drank rounds
of mint tea until 12:30 am.
