On my last night there a bunch of us went to a pub and were sitting
outside when some kids thought it would be funny to release pepper
spray in the air. This was not amusing.
It was amazing how quickly we all couldn’t breath and our
eyes started to water. We had no idea what was going on.
We were all herded inside into the “fresh” air, where
we decided that this was definitely the worst part of the night,
but that things would get better. This did not exactly turn out
to be true for me.

We later trekked down to a club
where a famous DJ was supposed to be playing. Keep in mind that
I’ve already packed all my stuff, but some clothes wouldn’t
fit in the bags. Therefore, I was wearing five shirts, three pairs
of socks, and three pairs of underwear. There are also approximately
200 people in this club all smashed up together. This was not comfortable.
To make things worse, the DJ didn’t show up for about two
hours, so while I’m trying to not pass out from heat exhaustion,
there is some lady on stage with a bad German accent, wearing lederhosen,
and singing 80’s songs interspersed with, “Yah, yah!
You like it like this, yah? Yah!” It was truly frightening.
I thought my last visions of Earth were going to be of Helga, Queen
of the 80’s dance floor. I now value my life so much more.
It indeed was a bit of a crazy night, but I enjoyed hanging out
with people and getting to know others that I hadn’t before.
I still miss everyone there, but email certainly helps.
