When we all filed into the mandatory study abroad meeting, they
told us that British students are hard to get to know, but from
what I can tell they appear just as pleasant as American students,
if not a bit kinder in some ways. It takes a while to get used to
their lingo. For example, they call chips crisps, and French fries
are called chips. Cookies are also called biscuits here, so if you
ask for biscuits and gravy they look at you very strangely.

The past
few days here have been particularly beautiful. When we first arrived
in Reading the sky was mostly a dense wall of gray, but recently
the sun has been peeking out from behind the clouds and illuminating
the multi-colored leaves. Autumn is proving to be more and more
gorgeous here.
