all you have to do
is walk in and they fix you right up without charge. I thought about
taking a spill on a bike to test this all out,
but then decided to just trust the British students that this is
all true.
6. British people
actually talk much more quietly than Americans. It does take some
time to get used to.
7. Everything closes early compared to places in America. Coffee
shops close at 7 p.m. (which still doesn’t make sense to me),
stores close at 8, and last call at pubs is at 11.
8. There is nothing better than British humor. It’s dry, witty,
and subtle. In general, it’s like being in a Hugh Grant and
Colin Firth film, with the exception of Love, Actually,
which is apparently a very bad flick.
9. Travel is easier here, although it’s not necessarily inexpensive.
Do it anyway, though. It’s worth it.

10. No
matter how much a British student, or anyone, tells you how good
haggis is, don’t try it. Really, you don’t
want to know what it is.
Well, there you have it, folks! Sorry, but I need to get back to
my papers seeing as I’m actually a student here, and my grades
will transfer back to Centre when I return. Next week’s entry
should be all about Ireland, though.
