However, Fawkes was discovered and sentenced to death. I’m not entirely sure how he was executed, but the common consensus here is that he was drawn and quartered. This is what the holiday celebrates, and often effigies of Fawkes are burned and fireworks are set off.

We then wandered Leicester Square, which at night is blazing with lights and teeming with people. I was surprised to see so many people eating ice cream since the temperature was around 40 degrees. Hot chocolate was just





 


 

fine for me. We finally shuffled back though the tubes and back to Paddington where we caught a train to Reading. The nice thing about the train station is that trains leave from there until around 1AM. However, the tubes shut down at 11:30, so you need to watch your time.

Have I had enough of London, you ask? No! No, indeed not. There is too much to see, and I may go back next week provided I’m not completely poor.
