| September 7, 2007 Lesson Four: Friendships know no national borders The best part of orientation was the weekend getaway to Kas, a small town along the Mediterranean Sea in southwest Turkey. The international students and Turkish orientation assistants loaded onto two coach buses, drove through the night and arrived in paradise the next morning. This was my first trip to the Mediterranean, and it was perfect. In addition to the wonderful setting, the three-day trip was the ultimate bonding experience. As we ate meals, wandered the street and enjoyed the boat ride on the Mediterranean, acquaintanceships strengthened to friendships that transcended national borders.
