from based on my accent. After lugging my suitcase up to my new
room (I was told that I pack well for an American), I got a quick
campus tour. It's amazing to think of the sheer age of some of the
buildings and monuments in Europe. The oldest things in America
go back only a few centuries, but here that's not that far back
at all. The Queens campus definitely gives you that wonderful feel
of oldness and tradition.
After the quick tour, I collapsed into bed, making a mental list
of all the things I needed to explore in the morning. I wondered
how the people here would react to me and if it

would be obvious that I was new to all of this. It's difficult to
journey out of the Centre cocoon where everyone knows your name
and you know all the rules, but I hope that the next few months
will give me confidence in my ability to change.
