SCAC releases 2009 Baseball All-Sportsmanship Team
The Centre College baseball team recently had a player named to the 2009 Baseball All-Sportsmanship Team. Senior Brandon Rosen (Ashland, Ky.) is the first Centre baseball player to receive this honor.
Rosen, a two-year captain for the Colonels, started in all 36 Centre games this past year. Rosen hit .370 with 8 doubles, 1 triple, 3 home runs and a team-high 35 runs batted in.
"Brandon is very deserving of this honor and it is nice to see him recognized for playing the game the right way, with respect for his teammates, coaches, umpires and opponents", Centre head baseball coach Mike Pritchard said.
"He was unanimously selected as a team captain for us this year by his teammates and has been a strong leader for us during his four years at Centre. Brandon is extremely competitive but also one of the most unselfish players I have been around and has always put the team before himself", Pritchard finished.
Rosen was a four-year starter in the outfield for the Colonels and will surely be missed upon his graduation from Centre this May.
