NCAA Feature: Centre College Colonels
They're not very big or athletic, but the Centre College men's basketball team knows how to play – and win.
The Colonels have put together their best season in school history with a 25-2 record, including the nation's longest winning streak (25 games) in Division III this season, but it is not necessarily talent that has made them successful. Head coach Greg Mason describes the squad as special, tough-minded and unselfish – a team that relies on their basketball smarts to earn wins.

Men's basketball honored for record setting season
Following the first undefeated conference season in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) history, the Colonels were recognized for the record setting season by the coaches in the conference. For the third consecutive year, Centre walked away with the league's Player-of-the-Year award, and for the second consecutive season, the Colonels picked up the Coach-of-the-Year award. More

The roster is full of players hailing from familiar Bluegrass cities and towns: Harrodsburg, Pikeville, Shelbyville, Louisville , Georgetown . There's one player from nearby Nashville and another from nearby Cincinnati. More
