Centre men earn 71-54 win against UC-Clermont
The Centre College men's basketball team won it's fourth consecutive game and sixth overall this season defeating the University of Cincinnati at Clermont 71-54 in a non-conference game Monday, Dec. 15 in Batavia, Ohio.
The Colonels, now 6-1 overall, controlled much of the first half taking a 42-25 lead into the locker room at the break and never looked back, finishing the game at 43.8% (28-64) from the field, while allowing UC-Clermont to shoot only 33.3% (20-60) for the game.
Junior Danny Noll (Ft. Mitchell, Ky.) led all scorers with 16 points and also added 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. Senior guard T.C. Thomason (Russellville, Ky.) scored 15 points with eight rebounds and five assists, while fellow senior guard Kris Bentley (Pikeville, Ky.) added 14 points in 27 minutes of action. Senior guard Cory Crowdis (Louisville, Ky.) finished one point shy of a double-double with nine points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
UC-Clermont was led by Seth Steele, who scored 14 points with five rebounds and four assists. A.J. Frazier and Ian Gordan notched 12 points each with Gordan also grabbing 10 rebounds. Francis Oliverio finished with 10 points and six rebounds.
Centre will return to action Wednesday, Dec. 17 with another road contest against Thomas More College. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. in Crestview Hills, Ky.
