Men's Basketball News

The Colonels have now won 10 of their last 11 games to improve to 18-4 overall and 10-2 in the SCAC, while DePauw falls to 17-6 overall and 9-3 in league action.

Centre shot 60.0% (18-30) in the first half, while limiting the Tigers to only 14.3% (3-21). DePauw's first basket came with 11:08 on the clock to make the game 22-2, but the Colonels continued to pour it on, extending the lead to 32 points (39-7) with 5:01 left and then to 36 points (50-14) at the half.

Even though the Tigers shot 57.7% (15-26) to Centre's 34.5% (10-29) in the second half, the lead still grew to as many as 41 points before ending in a 25-point victory for the Colonels.

Centre held an 11-rebound edge in total rebounding (33-22), forced 15 DePauw turnovers and hit 12 of 25 from beyond the three-point line.

Senior guard Kris Bentley (Pikeville, Ky.) led all scorers with 20 points on seven of 10 shooting, including six of eight from beyond the arc. Junior forward Danny Noll (Ft. Mitchell, Ky.) added 11 points and five rebounds while sophomore center Alex Lloyd (Lexington, Ky.) notched 10 points and nine rebounds.

Mike Moore led DePauw with 15 points and six rebounds, while Tom Callen added 10 points and five rebounds in the defeat.

Centre will return to action Friday, Feb. 20 with a home game against Sewanee-University of the South. The SCAC game will be played as part of a men's/women's doubleheader and is set to start at 6 p.m. in Danville, Ky.
