Men's basketball team to be recognized at opening football game
The 2007-08 Centre men's basketball team will be honored during half-time of Centre's opening football game against Hanover College, Saturday, Sept. 6. The team had one of the most successful seasons in both school and Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) history.
Among the Colonels' numerous accomplishments were:
- 26-3 record (best record in both school and SCAC history)
- 25-game winning streak (longest in both school and SCAC history)
- #2 national ranking (highest in both school and SCAC history)
- 14-0 SCAC record (1st team in SCAC history to finish SCAC play undefeated)
- SCAC regular season champions (2nd in a row and 17th in school history)
- 26-3 record (8th best record out of 974 NCAA schools, 2nd best in Division III)
