Cross Country has impressive showing at Pre-Nationals
The Centre men's team finished 5th out of 20 teams and the women's team finished 13 out of 16 teams at the Pre-National race today held at Hanover College in Hanover, Ind.
The top Centre male runner on the day with a tenth place finish was senior Chase Wilson (Paducah, Ky.). Wilson finished with a time of 25:58:11. The next Centre male runner to the cross the finish line was senior Joey Polio (Owensboro, Ky.) with a time of 26:11:93 good for a 17 place finish. The men's team finished 5th overall out of the 20 teams competing with a point total of 168.
The men's race was won overall by nationally ranked Allegheny College. Finishing first place in the men's race was Dan Greeno from Bethel College with a time of 25:31:32.
The Centre women finished 13 out of 16 teams today. Junior Lauren McCafferty (Newport, Ky.) ran a 24:26.40 to lead the Colonels in the field today with the 44th place finish.
The overall women's race was claimed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The individual winner of the women's race was Marie Borner from Bethel College with a time of 21:24.27.
The Colonels return to action Saturday Oct. 11 at the Furman Invitational hosted by Furman College.
