Centre men's cross country team finishes 29th at the Louisville Classic
The Centre men's cross country team finished 29th out of 38 teams at the Louisville Classic in Louisville, Ky. on Saturday, Oct. 3. Centre had two runners pick up personal best times at the meet.
Junior Clinton Cahall (Georgetown, Ohio) led the Colonels finishing in 114 place with a personal best time of 25:52. Sophomore Willie Polio (Owensboro, Ky.) was not far behind finishing in 25:54, which was good enough for 119 place.
Senior Jason Parks (Louisville, Ky.) finished the race in 152 place recording a time of 26:13. Sophomore Graham Campbell (Cincinnati, Ohio) also picked up a personal best time running the race in 26:48 and finishing 212. Junior Sam Morgan (Danville, Ky.) placed 248, completing the race in 27:17.
Sophomore Stephen Sambu from Rend Lake College won the race with a time of 23:33.
The University of Louisville won the race with 68 points. The University of Kentucky came in second with 153 points and the University of Tennessee came in third with 188 points.
Centre competed in the "gold" race, which was filled with mostly NCAA Division I programs. The Louisville Classic also had a "blue" race, which was made up of schools' second teams as well as smaller schools.
The men race next at the Wilmington Fall Classic on Friday, October 16th, in Wilmington, Ohio.
